COURSES

The following SPCA workshop on offer is in actuality a two workshop package: Camera for Commercial Photography and Video & Lighting for Commercial Photography and Video.

Both workshops will be taught by Max Ramirez, an independent commercial photographer with more than 15 years of experience working in Costa Rica, Panama and surroundings. Some of his clients include Mercado de Valores, Double Tree by Hilton, Grafos Publicidad and Gutis to name a few.

The workshops will be held once again at the Universidad San Judas Tadeo facilities. The first workshop (Camera for Commercial Photography and Video) will take place on September 28 and 28 from 9 AM-4PM each day and the second workshop (Lighting for Commercial Photography and Video) will take place on October 5 and 6, observing the same schedule.

The workshops are designed for beginners and those who have a rudimentary notion about the use of cameras and lighting. The camera workshop will focus on the basic points of camera operation, as well as technical concepts regarding composition, framing, exposure, capture processes, formats to use, and basic photo and video editing. The lighting workshop is a more extensive and in-depth breakdown of the different types of lights and how to operate these and all the accessories they come with. This includes a technical review of the different color temperatures, tones and types of lighting equipment, and how to use each for every kind of photographic set-up.

The workshops will be taught in Spanish and there is a maximum of 15-20 spaces for each one. It is not mandatory to take both workshops, although we recommend taking both as they are designed to complement each other. At the end of both workshops, each participant will be given a certificate accredited by San Judas University and SPCA.
